Sir George Brisbane Douglas, Bart.
Although born in Gibraltar, and educated at Harrow and Cambridge, the association with Kelso developed when he inherited the title from his late father in 1885. Springwood Park was the site of his mansion, but only the gates and the mausoleum survive. The mansion was demolished in 1935 after his death. His published work includes poetry and historical works. His 'Life of Major-General Wauchope', details the life of one who is celebrated in Yetholm, by a statue and by the Wauchope Hall.
