Lacemaking in progress
Exhibition of work
Roxburgh Lacemakers meet each Monday in the Abbey Row Centre in Kelso from 7 to 9 p.m. We start our sessions in September and continue until the end of April with a break over Christmas. We are a small friendly group with members from all over the Eastern Borders. We are pleased to welcome lacemakers moving into the area.
Beginners are especially welcome and are taught the rudiments of bobbin lacemaking by a volunteer. Help and advice are always available from the more experienced members of the group. Everyone works at their own pace. Traditional patterns are worked as well as the more modern pieces.
We are often asked to display our lace and demonstrate at venues in the area.
If you have always admired hand made lace come along on Monday night. You will be assured of a warm welcome and will soon be producing lovely hand made gifts for your family and friends.
