Kelso Civic Week 2014 at a Glance

Saturday 12th July
Civic Week Tennis Challenge at Orchard Park from 1pm
Senior Five-a-side Football at Woodside Park at 1pm

Sunday 13th July
Family Day at Shedden Park from 1pm to 4pm.
Sponsored Bike Race leaves from entrance to Woodside Park. Start 9.30am. Finishes at Broomlands School
Aptek Kelso Crawlers 10K Run leaving from Cobby, Registration 9.30am at Kelso Rugby Club.
Race starts at 11.00am from the Cobby.
Junior 5-a-side Football at Shedden Park at 1pm (Entries from 12 noon) Entry £1 per team.
Open quoiting competition at Shedden Park at 1.30pm
Laying of Wreath at War Memorial at 6pm followed by
Kirking of the Laddie in Kelso Old Parish Church at 6.30pm.

Monday 14th July
Children’s Pet Show opened at 1.15pm by the Kelso Laddie in the Tait Hall. Raffle.
Art Exhibition official opening at 3pm in Town Hall. Open 2.30pm till 5pm and 7pm till 9pm
Ride to Roxburgh, Heiton from Springwood Anna leaves 4.15pm. Return to Square at 9.30pm app.
Gymkhana and Show Jumping at Springwood Anna at 7.15pm Approx.
Dance at Heiton commencing at 10pm.
Live Music, Disco and Karaoke by Gary Cleghorn. Admission £5.

Tuesday 15th July
Art Exhibition in Kelso Town Hall 10am till 5pm and 7pm till 9pm
Ride to Stichill, Hume and Ednam leaving from Springwood Anna at 4pm, Return to Square at 9.30pm approx.
Final of Men’s and Women’s Darts competitions in the Royal British Legion at 7.30pm.
Karaoke in Royal British Legion Downstairs Bar from 8.30pm till 1am.

Wednesday 16th July
Children’s sports in Poynder Park at 1.30pm
Baby Show in Kelso Rugby Club at 2pm..
Installation of the Kelso Laddie and Colour Bussing in The Square at 7pm
Kelso Pipe Band play in The Square 6.30pm till 7pm.
Torchlight Procession leaves Mayfield at 11pm
Fireworks Display at The Cobby starting at 11.15pm (Sponsored by PLEXUS, and local businesses
Art Exhibition in Town Hall 10am till 5pm and 7pm till 9pm

Thursday 17th July
Children’s Fancy Dress in the Tait Hall 1.30pm – 4pm
Ride to Floors Castle leaving Woodside Park at 4.30pm. and
Children's Cycle Fun Run through Floors Castle Grounds leaving Knowes at 4.30pm.
Grand Civic Week Ball in Springwood Park Function Suite, Springwood Park from 8.30pm to 4.30am. (Grand March at Midnight)
Taxis for hire available after the Ball to ferry people home.
Art Exhibition in Town Hall 10am till 5pm and 7pm till 9pm

Friday 18th July
Fun Swimming Gala Kelso Swimming Pool at 1.30pm
Whipman’s Ride leaving Woodside Park at 6pm. Return 8.45pm approx.
Horse Racing (Friarshaugh) at 7pm
Art Exhibition in Town Hall 10am till 5pm and 7pm till 9pm

Saturday 19th July
Yetholm Ride - Kelso Laddie and his supporters will leave The Square at 8.30am to carry out the official ride to Yetholm, returning to The Square at 4.45pm
Fancy Dress Procession leaves Tait Hall at 7pm.
(Sponsored by Phil Stewart)
Presentation of cups and return of Kelso Standard at conclusion of the procession in The Square
Entertainment in the Square with Blackthorne Ceilidh band from 2.30p, till 4.30pm.
Art Exhibition in Town Hall 10am till 4pm.
