Motor Neurone Disease Charity Presentation

The Kelso Laddies’ Association recently presented a cheque for £400 to the Motor Neurone Disease charity to be used to help local sufferers of the condition. The money was raised at the cycle race held at the start of Civic Week earlier this year. The cheque was presented by Ritchie Allan, Secretary and Treasurer of the Association and accepted on behalf of the charity by David Rennie. David’s father Andrew died from the condition over 5 years ago after a very brave battle against the symptoms sufferer’s experience. Andrew, who farmed at Berryhill on the outskirts of the town, was a very popular rugby player in his day and a stalwart of the Kelso 1st fifteen for many years. Andrew was also a very popular regular attendee of the Ex-Laddies dinner held annually and a respected member of the community. Also pictured is Ex-laddie Colin Dumma the race organiser.
