Kelso Library Centenary Garden stone

It was considered that a carved stone inserted in the garden would acknowledge the fact that the garden was created as a lasting reminder of Kelso Library Centenary on 16th May 2006 for future generations of Kelsonians. Friends of Kelso Library receive Awards for All grant of £10,000

Work on creating a new outdoor reading and storytelling area at Kelso Library will start shortly thanks to a grant of £10,000 from the Awards for All (Scotland) scheme. Friends of Kelso Library have been successful in securing the funding as well as local donations of £2500 from Charity begins at Home and £1000 from the Abbey Row Community Centre which will be used to transform the area at the ... Friends of Kelso Library are currently applying for Awards for All funding to upgrade the garden to the rear of the Library. £2500 has already been gifted by Charity Begins at Home and £1000 from the Abbey Row Community Centre. Friends of Kelso Library Centenary Supper

To recreate the luncheon which was held on 16th May 1906, a Centenary Supper was held in the Cross Keys Hotel, Kelso on 16th May 2006. 48 people attended the supper which was held in association with Friends of Kelso Library.
